Joomla! Component to Un-Register
Though you never want your users to leave your site, it is nice to provide them a method to do so, if they should desire.
Here's a little component to allow a user to remove his account. After you install it, add a new menu link to it. Select the removeme link and make sure to set it to Registered if you don't want to bother guests with seeing it. Don't use the notuser type for a link. It's not meant to be assigned a menu link.
If you'd rather have your remove me function in a module, get the module and install it after the component.
You can download both the component and the module here after logging in.

Hi, i get this error when i try to install this component:
JInstaller::install: file /home/user2694/public_html/tmp/install_49e7ea6f88ef1/admin/site/index.html don't exists
JInstaller::install: file /home/user2694/public_html/tmp/install_49e7ea6f88ef1/admin/site/index.html don't exists
installation error
I've just downloaded both the component and module and installed them both with no issue on another site. Maybe you can download it and try again. Do you have trouble installing other modules or templates? If so, you may have file permission problems on your server.
mdrtmp/install_49ec40d219d18/admin/site/index.html' does not exist.
I get the same type of error, no problems installing other components. I am running 1.5.10
extra .xml file
There was an extra xml file that didn't belong in the archive. I've replaced the com_removeme.zip archive with a new one. Download the new version, or just delete the /admin/com_removeme.xml file inside your current your archive (not the one in the root dir of the archive but the one in the admin folder).
Installation
Smooth sailing on the installation of both the Com and MOD files now will see the working part.
Work Like a Charm
As indicated in my last post it tested it and it works GREAT!!
Just make sure all the componets are enabled. Make a menu item under users and you are good to go.

Got this error in module
"Warning: Missing argument 1 for modRemoveMeHelper::getName(), called in /home/xxx/public_html/xxx/modules/mod_removeme/mod_removeme.php on line 20 and defined in /home/xxx/public_html/xxx/modules/mod_removeme/helper.php on line 20"
However it works, but error note is unpleasent.

Community Builder?
Does RemoveMe work with Community Builder? I.e. if a user deletes their account are they also deleted from CB?
